Mom Time Found, 15 Minutes to Refresh! PDF Print E-mail

It’s a miracle, mommy has 15 minutes to herself for whatever reason and mommy so rarely has time to herself, even if it is only 15 minutes, she has no idea what to do with it. Oh sure, she could prep dinner, clean something, tidy up, but how about using that precious time for Mommy Time.

Catch up on projects you have put on the back burner, reconnect with friends or make it purely selfish time.

Make a virtual connection. Send a “Hey, how’s it going?” email to a friend you have not spoken to in a long time. You’ll make someone feel special and thought of and get to catch up. It feels good.

Go through your purse and clean it out, if you didn’t know it was in there, you do not need it in there. You’ll feel so much lighter the next time you head out the door.

Purge the cd’s. Still have 80’s music lining the shelves? Do you ever listen to that music anymore? Sure, it’s vintage, but pack up the ones you no longer want and de-clutter. Donate them to a local charity, library, or women’s shelter where they may get some use. Or make a little cash selling them on Ebay.

Have photographs piling up in the spare room, just waiting for their special place. Use your 15 minutes to take one envelope of pictures and place them in albums. It may not sound like much, but one envelope a week and you’ll be caught up in no time and then you can keep up to date.

The best way to spend the time though, by far, is to relax. Sometimes a mom just needs a little time to do nothing but relax. Watch a little mindless television, do a crossword puzzle, read a magazine, sit and stare at the walls and contemplate decorating ideas for the room, or take a catnap.

Even a mere 15 minutes of alone time can be enough to recharge mom’s batteries. Take the time whenever you have the opportunity or better yet, make the time.
